Our goal:To help you understand that few inventors or innovators work in isolation. One innovation leads to another, which leads to something else.
Your Goal:You will be given a topic in one of four categories: Medicine, Energy, The Arts, or Architecture.Your job will be to trace the evolution of the object or idea. What came first?Who was instrumental in inventing, changing, or designing it?Why?What was happening in the world that made it possible?Did they do it on purpose?Accidentally?How did it change the world?
Basics:You must have at least four steps with your innovation. You must have at least four humans involved in your innovation. One step must have occurred in the 21st Century Innovators:You will be given a very basic form to fill out for each innovator.You do not have to write a report about the person. You will, of course, have to read about each.You will share information about birth, education, death, and at least five and no more than eight interesting facts about the person. Innovations:You will write three to five paragraphs about each innovation.They will include a description, what was happening historically, and why it was important.You are first going to write these, then you will post them on a theme “wiki” that we will be able to share with parents. Other:You will also have to create a chart or a diagram that will illustrate each step you have chosen.This will be done at the end of the project.
